Pufferfish- She does not seemed concerned about Owen's happiness or well-being.
She doesn't get anything for Owen while shopping, but got everything for Naomi, Clive, or herself.
When she gave the children to Gram, she said that she couldn't take care of two kids, especially a deformed one.
Lighthouse- She doesn't have a job and she doesn't spend her money wisely.
She goes out shopping a lot. She gets all her money from Clive, so if Clive leaves, she would have nothing.
Jman- Skyla is on drugs so she has mood swings.
When she goes shopping she does not get anything for Owen and when she promissed to go to the conference she ended up on a three day weekend with Clive.
jd58-I think that Skyla doesn't care about Owen's well nearly as much as she cares about Niomi's well being because of Owen's tilted neck.raspy voice and having one leg shorter than the other one.
When Skyla goes shopingshe brought Niomi a lot of nice things like new clothes such as a sparkily top.She didn't get anything for Owen yet in this point in the book.
Livliv-Because Skyla is an Alcoholic, she has temper swings.
Sometimes she is nice and sweet but other times she is mean and demanding.
She was so excited about the conference meeting with Naomi the night before, but the in the moring she was stressed. When she had given the bike to Owen he was really excited but then she threatened Naomi that she better be really nice in front of Clive because Naomi "owes" him from all the stuff "hes" baught her.
Skyla has been to many places to stop her addiction to alcohol. I think she is'nt very responsible to take care of two children. (not even one!!!) I also think she should think about her future because who's gonna take care of HER children when Gram dies.

Wiiings-Skyla treats Naomi like a princess but she is rarley nice to Owen because he is deformed. Wich I think is really mean.
After Skyla comes home she says she bought them gifts.She baught Naomi many gifts, but when Owen asks if he got any thing Skyla says " Oh, today was girls shopping day.The next day she does the same thing
asa9111-Because Skyla was drunk and on drugs when she had Owen became deformed an now she treats Naomi like the queen of england, and She treats Owen like a peice of trash and doesn't want him, and I honestly think that Skyla is one of the worst moms you could ever have.
And when Skyla bought Naomi the shirts and jeans and Owen nothing you could kind of tell that Skyla didn't want to get Owen anything.

Lighthouse- When Naomi didn't stick up for her little brother, I was expecting that from her. She wouldn't and she doesn't stick up for herself or anyone else. I thought Owen was having a seizure because usually people drop down on the ground and shake. It must have been really scary for her. I don't think that Owen was faking it. The way the author described the scene, it didn't sound like he was faking it.
It was a suspenfull part in the book when the bully took the tape off Owen. I was'nt really sure what was going to happen because when Skyla tryed to take it off of owen Naomi stopped her. But now when the Bully tooked it off of Owen Naomi didnt stop him. If I would have been Naomi without even thinking I would have stopped the bully. (I have a brother myself and have done something like that before but it did'nt include taking off tape.) As soon as Owen fell to the floor I was desperate to read on. I thought the tape was there for a medical reason but guess I was wrong because as soon as the bully gave Owen the tape back he just stood up. Now I think the tape was there just as something he thought might bring him luck.

Pufferfish- When Owen starting spitting, I thought he was going to cough up blood or something. Owen is too optimistic. Why else would he fake that so others can enjoy the pleasure of teasing him? The boy was really worried that he might get in trouble. Naomi needs to learn to stand up for herself and her family. She's too shy. Owen should have stopped them himself. Also, if he faked, then why wouldn't he be like that since his tape was taken off?
Jman10- When Owen dropped on the floor, I thought he was really having a spaz attack for not having tape on his shirt. It was also wrong for Naomi to not stand up for Owen. Even though Naomi does not like to talk much she could have at least told the boys to stop. But on the other hand, she might have been made fun of herself.
asa9111-When the bully to off the tape from Owen's chest I thought that Naomi would have pushed the bully or call him a name or tell them to stop . But when she didn't I was kind of disappointed in her, and when after the bully put the tape back on Owen's chest and called him a retard I was expestind Naomi to tell a grownup or teacher. Even though Naomi might be called a snitch or tattle tale she she be abble to live with being called those names because I know that I could live with being called those names.
